TWO people have shot at a Walmart in Ohio Thursday night, resulting in the death of one of the victims.

According to an employee at the retailer in Hamilton, a store greeter had been one of the victims.

Shocking images from the incident showed the greeter had been shot in the stomach, while another person was seen on the ground in the produce section.

The suspect was attempting to steal items at the store when an employee intervened, said authorities.

After the shooting, police said the unidentified suspect fled in a vehicle.

Police said the suspect is at large. He is described as wearing dark clothing and a red shirt. Police also said he was wearing a mask.

Law enforcement called the incident “very tragic” when speaking with reporters.

“I didn’t really see it all clearly. I know it was a worker who got shot in the stomach area,” said Dawson Irwin, a witness of the incident to WLWT.

“I ran back to my car. It was like bizarre because the Texas thing just happened, talking about that. And then this happened here. It’s bizarre. It’s crazy to think about.”

The incident occurred just before 8pm at 3201 Princeton Road.

According to police, at least one person has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Police believe that person is in critical condition.

Law enforcement is urging people to stay away from the area at this time.
